Completed Chapter 1? Check out the Chapter 1 feedback poll. The poll helps me get an idea of the choices players make, which in turn helps me check the game's balance. I was savescumming so I could maximize chances of romancing the boy, not even for the skill checks. I seriously love this! I love playing games where you can make choices and the number of routes I saw from the poll at the end is so good.
I was genuinely worried about the potential consequences of my actions. The world is interesting too, I can't wait to see the city. It's the first interactive fiction i tried and damn Honestly, i had always put aside interactive fiction because i need to seen the face of the potentiel LI, but to see just a image of the LI like in this game is good enough, so thanks at the artist!
The story is well tied, place descriptions, e. It's so good to have a detailed custom character, you have a fan lol! And just the prologue it's so innovating! I really like this game and i will put a more big - or i will tried - review when the game will be finish but, yes, it's great and the first LI, gnn I came across this game by chance and decided to check it out on a whim, and my god! I wasn't expecting to be this blown away! After my first playthrough, I filled out the google form and was amazed by all the possibilities and outcomes!
I didn't even know that certain characters could die or about who is in the possession of the chalice! Even who we can form pacts with! I am so excited to see more from this game and all of the upcoming chapters! Even the beginning of chapter one stunned me as even the things other characters can do aren't always definitive, as seen by Luthias's attempt to rob us! Truly an amazing game! I really can't wait to see more from this game and our journey ahead, so I wish you good luck!
Hey there, I've been following your game for a while now and love it! I find it better than all the random I dunno, cookie-cutter games that I see on too many websites. I hope you guys continue to update this for a long time. I have my own random projects I like to fiddle around with on RPGMaker and I never found out how to get them to run in browsers. Did you use some special program to do so?
Which RPGMaker program do you use, too? Is it V or the newest version? I've had a couple people have this error, but I have never been able to replicate it.
That's ok! If you're still encountering the issue, I would try refreshing the page to make sure the arrow icon loads or try a different browser. I can't replicate the error so unfortunately I can't offer more solutions than that.
First time leaving a comment, but Chapter 1 was really an amazing narrative experience and I am very much looking forward to what's to come. As a romance lover, I found the relationship between MC and Aeran to be really well done!
The two of them have a wonderful dynamic that they go back and forth with. Something tells me the full game will leave me in tears of both sadness and happiness. It is well established in the comment section how good this game is and I rarely comment but this needs to be an exception! The writing is immersive, the detail in worldbuilding in just one chapter is astonishing! I love the skill check mechanics and I have to note that the way failure is handled here is smooth like no other game so far.
You just roll with the punches and the story remains strong, no matter the new circumstances. Makes it feel "my personal story" every part of the way. Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I'm glad you're enjoying the mechanics and the story. A very interesting story so far with lot of variability.. I had a few confusing moments, though it probably because English not my first language. On the more important side: really love mechanics, UI and such I think some words on down sidebar blend a little too much with the, So, the question.
Obviously, I would use it only as example for myself I'm learning these languages right now. If you are interested how I could get access to those files - itch io app downloads a game, and twine opens it the way I need. Thank you so much for checking out the game, I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Wayfarer's files are not available for download. I am personally not comfortable with players accessing the files of my in-progress game, even if it's just to poke around to see how I coded it.
If you're interested in making your own game in Twine, there are a lot of resources available to help you get started:. Thanks a lot! And don't worry, I respect the author rights, so I won't access your files. I'm not able to launch the game in firefox through itch. It does work in Chrome. I can run the game directly from v6p9d9t4. Any ideas how I can it to work through Itch with Firefox?
Check your extensions. Adblockers can interfere with Twine games, so you may need to whitelist the game page in order for it to run. Privacy Badger in particular wreaks havoc with the Twine engine. Also, running your browser in any non-standard modes i. Quick response! Yes, it was Privacy Badger. I've whitelisted itch and hwcdn and it works fine now, thanks! I'm part-way chapter one now, and I have to say, this is excellent! I can't wait to see where this game goes.
I've gone through every possible play through so far with just chapter one Feck it! I can't wait for the whole thing! Really good story writing, keep it up! Thank you so much, I'm so glad you're enjoying! I played your game a few days ago and other text-based middle-ages games! I noticed all of them used Twine so I started to make my own! I use SugarCube which I personally prefer to Harlowe. I use a custom template created by cerberus, it's available here , but it will only work with SugarCube.
The default version of SugarCube does come with a sidebar, so if that's something you're interested in having without a lot of additional work, you may want to switch formats.
There are several ways to remove options based on previous choices in SugarCube. I don't work in Harlowe, so I don't know how to do that in that story format. If you're starting out in Twine, there's are a lot of sources available that can help you get started:. In addition, the Twine category on Intfic.
To be honest, the best way to learn is to read the documentation, guides, and try things out for yourself. You'll get a better handle of how the story format works and what your personal preferences for coding are. Thanks for your help and wishing me luck on my game! Again thanks for the help!
There should be a little arrow on the far right hand of the screen. Click that to progress any black screens. It looks like this:. Wayfarer is a passion project that has been in mostly full-time development since October The game is released episodically, on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Unfortunately, there is no set schedule for chapter releases as some chapters take more time than others.
The game will update periodically, when new content has been written, coded, playtested and prepared for public release. If you're interested in early access and behind-the-scenes posts, there is an alpha version of the game available through my Patreon patreon.
The alpha build contains in-development content that goes beyond what is playable in the public build. Marked by complete magical immunity, Wayfarers wander the world, fighting magic. Where will your fate lead you? Log in with itch. Cohesive game, with gorgeous characterization and imagery.
Gameplay long-term seems a little daunting: I cannot understand how when passing skill checks I did not see improvement on any skill at the end of the first chapter.
Perhaps I misunderstood but this sounds like the way in which the MC raises skill levels is passing skill-checks? This doesn't overshadow how much I delighted in the game but would certainly hinder chapter progress. Thanks again for your awesome work! Passing skill checks does not improve your skills. Rather, you will have the chance to level up your skills at the end of each chapter.
Note: Your robe will not automatically switch colors when you pick up the last Symbol. You would need to switch to it at the Wardrobe in Chapter Select after completing that Journey. A White Robe Journeyer would usually have a fully embroidered Robe, but it is possible to get a White Robe with lower tiers if you manage to collect all the Symbols within one Journey. Note that in this image you can see a first run White Robe pattern, which is not in the game code.
